Courageous Transformation
I’m so grateful for the courageous transformation that has come through building a coaching business.
This involves personal development: healing from childhood trauma, processing my emotions, gratitude for the growth that comes from pain, learning to set boundaries, speaking up for myself, becoming less critical and more positive, consciously loving myself, changing my vibration, having a morning an evening routine, and developing compassion towards people who try to bully me!
It also includes professional development: becoming a powerful coach, asking for my fee, approaching successful business women, opening up to coaching men, overcoming self-doubt, learning to focus my attention, doing FB Lives, confidently leading in a group setting, becoming consistent in taking action, and thinking bigger.
My own way of understanding the courageous transformation involved in building a business is that we are climbing an eternal stair case. Fear is lurking on the step above us. Each time we climb a step we conquer Fear who then escapes to the next one up. Fear is in reality afraid of us!
This reminds me of the boy at school who used to hit me every day along with some of his friends. One day my arm shot out all by itself and punched him in the eye. He ran away yelling like a baby. He and his friends never hit me again.
When we have climbed a step, we can stay on it for a while without Fear ever coming back to that step. This is like when we learned to drive and then stayed as a regular driver without progressing to becoming a driving instructor or a racing driver.
Alternatively, we can choose to climb up to the next step and take ownership of that step away from Fear. And Fear escapes to the next step up. Learning to love this process is the really courageous transformation.
